My second most asked question is how I come up with the idea of my artwork. Surprisingly, I get them from my dreams, emotions. and experiences. I have a dream journal in which I write little paragraphs of my dreams in detail. I always include where I was, what time of day it was, what colors I saw, who I met, what I touched, what I felt, and what I did. This gives me a great opportunity to create something special to me, and to create original artwork without the use of the internet, unless for references, so I don’t draw blindly.
When I draw with my emotions and experiences, it is usually when I am upset. Creating art helps me vent and reflect on myself. These drawings are almost always self-portraits. I like to focus on my expression and the colors I saw that day and include colors that I felt that day. For example, I was upset and done with about something someone said to me. I was sitting near my window and it was during the sunset, and I was also listening to songs, trying to carry on. I decided to draw myself in the same position and illuminating in facial expression. I added my hand in order to ass emotion with my hand being my post to lift me up. After, I finished my portrait I realized it wasn’t worth it to be that upset because someone talked about me behind my back.
