On Thursday, Feb. 6, the Freedom Gymnastics team brought home another regional title which gave them a spot in the state competition. The team won with a score of 146.383.

The team also did well individually in the all around with Riley Waldrop placing third, Emily Hyun in second and Kelly Fangyen in first.

As states approach, they reflect on their season and the hard work which led up to their accomplishments. Freshman Taylor Duncan is competing in her first year with the Freedom team and is enthusiastic about the season.

“I’m really looking forward to Freedom competing against the best teams in Virginia,” Duncan said. “You can never predict what will happen, but Freedom has a really great coaching and a talented team.”

The team will continue on to Patriot High School in Nokesville, Virginia on Feb. 21 to compete for the state title. If they win it will be their third state win in three years.
