Freedom varsity girls remain undefeated

As the winter pep rally closed the Friday off with an ample amount of school spirit, it continued on to the Freedom versus John Champe basketball game where the Freedom crowd was decked head-to-toe with bright neon and white. During Freedom’s doubleheader against Champe’s basketball team on Feb. 9, the varsity girls continued their winning streak with a final score of 50-22. After the win against Champe, the girls’ team will advance to district tournaments.

Although the varsity girls beat Champe, junior Emma Strohecker believes that her team always has room to improve and grow.

“Our team still needs to work a lot more on communication on defense and taking our time on offense so that our passes are more secure,” Strohecker said.

She, along with her fellow teammates, are working hard during practice to reach their goal of making it to states and are proud to have had such a successful season so far.
