Freedom rocks The Bulldog Invitational

On Saturday, Jan 10, some of the Freedom Track team took a 3-hour bus ride to Liberty University for one of the most competitive meets this season, The Bulldog Invitational. The Liberty University meet is a huge indoor meet with hundreds of competing athletes. About 50 Freedom students were invited to the meet and got to compete. The meet lasted about 12 hours and was a huge success for many athletes who qualified for post-season championship meets. One athlete in particular, Sam Tiong, had an excellent meet. Tiong ran a 7.69 second 55m dash, qualifying her for district championships and setting a personal record.  She also ran a 9.05 second 55m hurdles, which qualified her for the regional championships. Tiong placed 10th out of 135 competitors in the 55m dash and sixth out of 50 athletes in the 55m hurdles.
