exploring the world one day at a time

Bolinas, California

This past summer my family had decided to cut our two week trip to the Philippines short (an adventure yet to be explained) and fly on over to California for a few days. Fortunately this ended up being a refreshing decision despite the struggle to adjust to a 10+ hour time difference.

As we have relatives not far from San Fran, my family tries to visit every year. In our short visit my  my cousins had suggested Alamere Falls, a beautiful (yet long) 13 mile hike, one that involved a bit of rock climbing (and poison ivy trails).

I intelligently wore shoes a size too small for me, leaving my feet completely aching by the end, but I have to say the view was worth it. I definitely recommend visiting Alamere Falls, just make sure to bring water, snacks, motivation, long sleeves to protect yourself from the poison ivy, and clothes you don’t mind getting a little dusty!

p.s. be careful driving up the dirt path as we returned from our hike to a flat tire
