Dalmatian Dog

Did you know that our first president of the United States favorite dog breed was a Dalmatian dog? Dalmatians are distinct for their piebald pattern. Every dal is different, most have black or brown spotting, but others have lemon, brindle, or blue spots. In fact, Cruella De Vil, staring in the film 101 Dalmatian Dogs, even wanted the cute dalmatian puppies skin because she thought it would be a perfect new print for her fur coat! Also, if you open up a Dal’s mouth, they even have spots in their cheeks and on the roof of their mouth! Despite all these dots, each and every dalmatian puppy is born snow white, they normally start to grow their markings when they are about four weeks old. Dalmatians are well known for being fire dogs and coaching dogs. Don’t forget, they are the firehouse mascot! This breed makes a great pet, and are good to make memories with. Although, without proper training, they can be willful and stubborn. These demanding dogs will need much exercise and attention. If you aren’t an early bird and can’t get out of bed to go on a long walk,  dal’s may not be the best fit for you.
