Fantasy Football and the AFC

The AFC

The 2 teams almost certain to clinch their divisions are the Steelers and the Patriots. The Steelers have overtaken the Patriots as the top team in the AFC. The AFC South race is between the Tennessee Titans and the Jacksonville Jaguars. I think the Jaguars will come out on top due to the inexperience of Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota and the strength of the Jacksonville defense although Tennessee currently owns the tiebreaker. I predict that the AFC West will come down to the 12/31 game between the Chiefs and the Chargers. The Chargers will most likely win due to their stifling defense and their recent hot streak as the Chiefs have gone cold from their hot start.

Fantasy Football(By Position)

Quarterback

Drop: Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys. The second year quarterback just had one of his best fantasy games of 2017 against the New York Giants, but I remind you that the Giants still are hardly good enough to be an NFL team. Dak losing his star running back, Ezekiel Elliot, will give him more pass attempts, but his schedule for the rest of the season appears to be very challenging.

Add: Case Keenum, Minnesota Vikings. The backup quarterback has quickly turned himself into one of the better fantasy quarterbacks of the second half of the season. The Vikings have a relatively easy schedule for the remaining 3 games so if he is still available you must pick him up.

Runningback

Drop: Frank Gore, Indianapolis Colts. The old running back who has always been a consistent source of 10 fantasy points per game has been disappointing in the 2017 season. His highest point total this season has been 14, which is barely above average for a flex play. If you have him drop him immediately and pick up a free agent RB/WR to replace him.

Add: Dion Lewis/Rex Burkhead, New England Patriots: The two Patriots running backs have been on a tear as of late. As Tom Brady begins to show that he is aging the Patriots will have to rely on their running game more, making these two a prime pickup.

Wide Receiver

Drop: Sammy Watkins, Los Angeles Rams. The former Bills receiver has just been flat out disappointing. With only 1 20+ point fantasy showing this year, fantasy owners who picked him in the 2nd or 3rd round have been robbed.

Add: Josh Gordon, Cleveland Browns. Josh Gordon is a must-add if he is still available. The receiver coming off suspension scored 12.9 fantasy points in his last game. With that being only his second game back from suspension, we all expect him to get better as he shakes the rust off.

Thank you for reading and I will be back next week with an update on the playoff picture and top Fantasy Football pickups.
