A Quick Summary on Why Gold is a Great Sport

Golf is an extremely underrated and unappreciated sport. This is due to golf being a very slow and long sport. This style of a sport is not appealing to most 16 year old high schoolers who just want to see someone get dunked on. I do agree this is much more fun to watch, but with a sport like basketball, a person can’t play it their whole life. At some point, your legs are going to give out and you have nothing left to do. This is what makes golf so great, you can play it your entire life. Golf is also often used in business when your boss wants to do something other then out out to dinner. If you believe that in the future you may go into business, being able to play golf is a great skill to know. What do you believe is the best sport?

The Ultimate Distraction

Right now, I am first hand witnessing the destination that March Madness in school. The Rhode Island vs Oklahoma is happening right now and there is two minutes left. The entire right side of Doc’s 7th is all hovered around one kid who is steaming the game on a 5 inch screen and I, dreadfully, have to emit that I am part of this mob. Teachers hate this, but we don’t care, it’s fun and exciting, but mostly, the mob has formed due to the fact that most of the have money on it, so that is why we are watching. In conclusion, for any teacher reading this, please let us watch March Madness.

Crazy Olympic Record Broken

Congratulations to Norway for setting a new Olympic medal count record of 39 total medals, 14 gold medals, 14 silver medals, and 11 bronze medals, beating the old record of most total medals won at a single Olympic Games. This break out year was lead by Norway’s elite Alpine Skiers who are so good that they have received the name “The Attacking Vikings”. Germany came in second this year with 31 total medals with 14 gold medals, 10 silver medals, and 7 bronze medals. The U.S.A finished forth with a respectable 9 gold medals, 8 silver medals, and 6 bronze medals. The host country, South Korea, did well in the medal count finishing in 7th place in the medal count. They ended the Olympics with 5 gold medals, 8 silver medals, and 4 bronze medals. Next Winter Olympics will be in Beijing where China will have a home field advantage for their athletes, but do you think that will really be a factor?

Snowboard Slopestyle Champs!

This event is AWESOME and apparently the U.S.A Olympic team is pretty good at it too. This is one of the newest events in the Winter Olympics because Slopestyle is only making its second appearance ever. The only other time that Slopestyle was an event was in the 2014 Sochi games. It is a unique event that uses terrain park features that snowboarders (and Skiers) must ride down and do tricks to impress a panel of judges all while not falling down. So far in the history of this event, which hasn’t been that long, American’s have won all of the snowboard Slopestyle gold metals and all but one ski Slopestyle gold medals as of February 16, 2018. The biggest upset in this event ever happened at this years winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, were a 17 year old kid, Red Gerald, had a incredible final run allowing him to win an upset gold metal. After he won, Red said that he wasn’t even projected to make the finals. Better yet, this was the first medal for team U.S.A in that years Olympics.

The Eagle Sores High!

As a Redskins fan I’m not overjoyed that the Eagles won Super Bowl 52, but I think it was time for the New England Patriots dynasty to fall. The Philadelphia Eagles and the New England Patriots played a fantastic game in the U.S Bank Stadium up in Minnesota. With the Eagles starting out their first position with a touchdown, you could tell that this was going to be a game for the ages. At halftime the Eagles were winning 22-12, but after an awesome halftime preformance by Justen Timberlake, the Patriots came back and put it within 3 points at the end of the 3rd with a score of 29-26. Then at the very end of the game, the Eagles took control and scoring 12 points to secure their Super Bowl victory with a final score of 41-33.
