Seldens Landing Elementary School’s Discovery Lab opened in August 2017. The lab was partially funded by a grant, but mostly from the generosity of the Seldens Landing PTA. Through research, instructional committee meetings and discussion, and visiting the wonderful SMART Lab at Liberty Elementary School, we decided on the tools and equipment that would be best for our learners at Seldens Landing.

Our lab is now equipped with a green screen wall, collaborative desks, a video editing and sharing station, a charge and sync cart of 30 iPads, six Bee Bots, 18 Ozobots, and a physical-digital video game program. All of the activities in the Discovery Lab space are collaborative and directly link to the classroom curriculum.

The past few months we have been on an journey of creating, programming, collaborating, discovering and rethinking, and most importantly learning in new ways that are engaging ALL students!
