Reflection time!! Goodbye SBC!!

Ok, I honestly thought this was going to be much harder. How come nobody told me that having a blog was so awesome? This challenge was a fun task that I hope we can do again in the future. Now, I can continue with my blog for years to come! This challenge was so amazing because I am going to remember what we learned about the blogs forever! One thing in particular that I learned was all the blogging vocabulary. I never would have guessed that there was so much!

If I had to choose a favorite post, I would pick either the week where we had free choice week, (week 4), or the Holidays and Festivities week (week 7). I liked these weeks because I got to write freely, and I got to be myself. Writing is so enjoyable to me, but I can’t explain why I like it because most of the time I don’t like writing. But for some reason, my blog has encouraged me to take on trying to write, and now I love it. Even though the week 4 post I did wasn’t writing, it was still me expressing myself in a way that I wanted to.  During that week I made a halloween video in the hallways of my school. If you haven’t seen it, go check it out! In total I have written 8 posts so far, not including this one. I will continue to post in the future as well!

Don’t worry, I’m not getting rid of my blog. I will still update you with weekly posts, but they won’t be the wonderful SBC challenges. No need to freak out, I’m not going away forever! I would like to thank the SBC for providing us with this fun and encouraging challenge!! In the future I have plans to include more excerpts from my story The forgotten Throne, excerpts from my new story called Dark Chocolate, poems, and visuals like videos and pictures!

This reflection was really short, but it really got out everything I needed to say about these past 8 weeks. I loved this challenge! I hope everyone enjoyed my weekly posts and I will encourage you to comment down below what else you would like to see on my blog. Make sure to go and check out my peers blogs, you can access them through the sidebar of my blog!! Happy holidays to everyone out there who is reading, I’m CC dePascale, signing off for the last time, for the SBC.

Happy Holidays!

Seasons greetings! Welcome back to Paint Wars. Today, I only have a little bit to talk about before we jump right into things. This week is holidays and festivities. I picked to do a poem  because as you probably know by now, writing is one of my passions. I love poems and I picked a Christmas/wintertime poem. Writing poems is one of my favorite things to do because poems are so free and you can write a poem about anything you want. My favorite holiday is Christmas because we get to spend time with our families and we get to give and recieve gifts. Feel free to comment about your favorite time of year when you’ve finished reading my poem.  Mine is winter. I love the snow!! Also, make sure to click on the hyperlink to fill out the form I created (It’s a picture). Enjoy the poem!!!

We sit around the fire

Crackle, pop.

Dark bronze chocolate sits in front of me,

Little chalky balls of happiness float in the milky substance.

Flames crack and the TV is busy projecting The Polar Express.

The ground outside is frosted with pearly white snow

A Christmas tree sits in the corner, with hundreds of bulbs

Made by the kids over the years.

The house is warm and cozy

My silky pajama pants braising against my legs

Keeping me warm

 in the cold Virginia weather.

Christmas lights twinkle outside my bedroom window

Red, white, green

Why even some of them are pink.

The street is lit up with little balls of flair.

Snow falls gently to the ground

A call comes in, we have no school tomorrow.

No books and binders galore

No waiting for hours on end for the bell to ring

Just a cozy home with a working fireplace

And a working TV and heater

And love

All around

Pleasant music is playing in the background

My dad’s entire family is here

Showing off, laughing

The cousins are checking out the house that they never get to see

My dad plays a slow song on the piano

And my mom opens a bottle of wine

My grandparents tell me and my cousins how big we have gotten

You know, the usual.

Then dinner is served.

Ham, bread, pasta, with a finishing touch of pie.

Apple, shoo-fly, and pumpkin.

Minced meat for the grandparents.

We wander into the family room

To put out the milk and cookies

In hopes that Santa will come tonight.

We run upstairs to go to sleep.

There is almost no patience left in me.

What will I get?

Will others like the gifts I gave them?

Christmas morning we sit in front of the fire

In our pajamas with our stockings and our gifts.

We are ready to open the gifts!

The siblings complain about who gets to go open something first.

The oven beeps in the kitchen.

The french toast casserole is ready.

We sprinkle powdered sugar over our french toast

And we run to the airport to pick up the second load of grandparents.

This is a normal Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at my house.

Snow, happiness, fighting.

What are holidays like at your  house?

SBC 2019 week 4

The forgotten throne- An excerpt

SBC 2019 Week Three Challenge – Fun With Photos

My photo story actually comes from another story that I am writing right now. It’s called The Forgotten Throne. I hope that you understand it, and, if you find it confusing or you have some questions, comment down below. I can explain everything.

I love writing fantasy because anything can happen, whearas in realistic fiction, there are so many mystical things that simply won’t work for that genre, such as the purple mist and prophecy you will see below. Enjoy this excerpt from my story, and let me know if you want to read the entire story. I’d be happy to share a hyperlink when I reply to your comment. Enjoy the story!

“A group a five will travel south

Face the dangers of the unknown

To find the beginning and the truth

To find the forgotten throne

To stop the curse and end the wrath

You shall face your greatest fear

To end the features of my laugh

To end the blood and tears

The world is in great danger, children

The world eventually will fall

Make sure you’re safe, one place to go

One way to end it all”

“Guys, I think we just heard a prophecy.”

“Yes, very onimous,” Larua rolled her eyes. “Come on,  you really think a 13 year old girl is capable of taking over the world? She probably is just hallucinating and thinking she is a dark lord.”

“Right, so when purple mist came out of her hands, it wasn’t real. Laura, people are in trance from that purple mist. We have to stop her!”

“Whatever, Olivia, you think she isn’t innocent and I do. Just stop fighting me and do whatever you think is neccasary.”

“Fine, I’ll stop her myself. She just walked outside right? She should be right out there, and I will stop her. Maggie doesn’t stand a chance against me.”

Olivia walked outside and found nothing there.

Inside the school, Laura was feeling scared that her best friend wasn’t going to come back in. Although she was trying to convince Olivia that Maggie wasn’t actually evil, she secretly thought that Maggie was definately capable of hurting people.

Just then, a bloodcurdling scream from outside echoed through the school. Laura knew that voice. It was Olivia’s voice.

~My Awesome Avatar~

Hey! It’s me, number 15! Got my soccer ball, and got my headband, which is the only thing I will wear in my hair, besides elastics. Making my avatar was fun, but also a bit challenging. I had no idea it would be so hard to get an accurate description of me, especially when I have a hard to find hair color, (at least on bitmoji), and when I have a strange sense of style. I think my Avatar accurately describes me, especially with the hazelnut colored hair I found. BTW, check out some of the gossip on Mariams Not So Secret Diary! I have lots more to say about me, but let’s save it for another post! Can’t put it all in one!

The fact that my avatar had an option to put in a soccer ball made me ecstatic. Not only does that tell people that I play soccer, it tells people that I like it to. My hair has a nice purple tint in its tips, although recently its started washing out. My cute little outfit shows that even though I am athletic, I don’t live in athletic wear. I live in my favorite jeans and junky t-shirts. Comment what your favorite stay home outfit is at the bottom of the post. There is no need to be very descriptive, just a little description! My headband also describes me, I wear headbands all the time.

I’m so excited for the Student blogging challenge! It gives us something fun to do with our blogs, instead of posting what we had for dinner, (I had chicken…).  Its a really great experience making the avatars and just having a chance to be in this challenge.  As a class, we made lots of avatars. Check them out below! Our class avatars are so awesome and I can’t wait to find out what will happen next! Until next time everyone!

Absolutely all about me! (again) {A-Z}

Hi! I’m back again! Believe it or not, I have more facts to share about myself. Sorry if you think I’m obsessing! Let’s start with my passion for acting. I like to consider myself an Awesome Actor but I never thought that I would have a chance to be in our school’s musical production of “Beauty and the Beast”. I love crawling around dramatically as I’m acting out an intense death scene… don’t ask questions. I was ecstatic to know that I finally caught the break I’d been waiting for, and I will be making my debut in “Beauty and the Beast” this year! Girl, I didn’t see that coming. Ok, the heck with all this drama talk. Let’s move on to another subject.

My mom constantly tells me how impressive I am at soccer. She’s like, “Wow CC! That jump you made to catch the ball in goal was killer!” No, she doesn’t say it like that because she speaks mom talk. But she totally supports me in everything I do. Thanks Mom!

Now onto more awesome facts about me. Popping up out of nowhere is kinda my thing, so don’t be surprised if you don’t see me walking into the classroom but I’m already there sitting at my seat. I like to quietly run around in gym, but anywhere else I an extremely rambunctious. Also, did I mention that my real name is actually Sophia? Never would have guessed that, would ya? Unbelievable, right?!! As you might have guessed, Virginia is my home state, and I love it here because VA is the best state of them all, even if it doesn’t have much to do in it. Why would I tell you that? I’m not sure. An extremely random fact… I have an Xray of my stuffed unicorn. You get the idea. I’m a zany girl!!

ALL ABOUT CC!!!

Hello Everyone! Welcome to The Daily CC! I’m CC, and here’s some facts to get to know me!

I live in Virginia where the weather is very unpredictable. I am thirteen years old and have three younger siblings. I have my own room but my siblings treat it like it is their own. I would say more but I guess I don’t really have to, because now you can read on below!

1. I am a HUGE dog nerd

My family has a little puppy, a maltese. I love to read articles and find out new facts daily about dogs, or any animals really. I love to be around animals, particularly cuddly puppies and small animals. Even though I don’t want to go into to working with animals, I would still love to find a way to be around them all the time.

  1. I love singing

I consider myself to be a very good singer and I love doing it. Right now I am obsessed with singing pretty much anything I hear on the radio and I do it all the time. My parents actually tell me to go away sometimes because they don’t want to listen to me singing any longer.

3. I love to act

I will stand on any stage and act out something for you if you would like. I like doing dramatic death scenes, and doing fun little skits and excerpts from movies. I love acting by myself, or in front of people. My family is also annoyed by me acting and being loud, but I love it.

  1. I will volunteer to play midfield on any soccer team

I love to run and midfield consists of a lot of running, so it is one of my favorite positions to play. I know a lot of people think that it is too much running for them, but for me I think it is the perfect position, and the only other position I have trained for is goalie, which I played for 3 years before I transferred back to midfield.

  1. I love making crafts, all of them

I love painting and drawing, and during quarantine I have recently gotten into drawing people. They are a bit scary though! I have a bunch of my favorite paintings that I have made on my wall, and I am looking to add more soon! I love editing photos, and drawing thing as if they were in an animated movie!

  1. I love making videos

Being in front of the camera is my favorite thing. I will never be a director for a movie because while a get to boss people around, I will always end up jumping in front of the camera singing. I’m always filming myself and I don’t use a script because I love just being in front of the cameras.

  1. I’m a huge water slide person

Water slides are one of my favorite things. I have a blow up water slide at my house and even though it’s only like five feet long, I love playing around with my siblings on it. I love the super long ones at waterparks, and the ones with big drops. They actually freak me out a lot, but they are also really fun!

  1. I have three younger siblings

My younger siblings can be, a little (ok, a lot), annoying at times. They are 11, 9, and 6 years old. The 11 year old likes to spend a lot of time in her room, the 9 year old like to annoy me, and the 6 year old loves making things with legos and play doh. They are all annoying at times (and I’m not gonna lie, I annoy them too) but they are fun to play with.

  1. I love the snow (yeah that’s pretty random)

A teacher of mine once told me that once you get bored of the snow as you get older, but that is 100% not true. I will never get bored of the snow. There are so many possibilities and I don’t know how anyone could ever get bored or annoyed with that!

I have a dog, 3 fish, and a guinea pig.

Ok, so if you read this fact a long time ago, I will have to catch you up. All of the hermit crabs died, we now have three fish, a guinea pig, and a dog. My whole family loves animals, though I think if we get anymore we might go crazy! It is a lot of work taking care of all of them but in the end it’s worth it. The guinea pig is my sisters, and only one of the fish is mine, but the puppy is for everyone!

Updated February 3rd 2021, so these are all updated and very true!
