After hearing Alan Gratz speak at a librarian conference about his book Prisoner B-3087, I could not wait to read the book. Prisoner B-3087, is the fictionalized story of Jack (Yanek) Gruener’s life. Yanek survived 10 concentration camps during WWII. Like all other books I have read about the holocaust Prisoner B-3087 is a heart wrenching read and a very hard book to put down.
