This book should be read by all as it is honest and raw.  Shirin is a Muslim American teenager trying to live in the world after 9/11.  The hurt, constant ridicule, and racism she faces leaves her angry and closed off to others.  She finds solace in books and breakdancing, while also try to deal with her feelings for a boy named Ocean.
