Masks

Day after day camouflaged in cosmetics

Trying to feel beautiful and aesthetic

Wanting to fit in

And feel comfortable in their skin

Hiding behind the faces they wear

Hoping that people won’t stop to stare

Am I not good enough the way I am?

This is the question so many ask

Challenged with trying to take off their masks

Alone with no one by their side

Forced with having to decide

For the mask we wear

Is harder to bare

Then no mask at all
