100 Word Challenge / April 16

A few years ago, an elephant as small as a violin came to the reserve. She was painted in mud and covered in big purple bruises. Since she was brown, we decided to name her Spruce. We put her under the care of Willa, our oldest female. The Reserve rescued Willa about 60 years ago.  Willa was kind, wise, and taught Spruce everything she knew, but, sadly, two weeks ago, Willa passed away. We now think that Spruce is ready to set out on her own. We know Willa would’ve been so happy.

Thank you for reading my post. Ironically, elephants are my favorite animal, so it was easy to come up with a story for this week. Make sure to come back next week. Have a wonderful day!!

  1. Congratulations on your response to this week’s challenge Marissa. It is not easy to create a coherent text using random words. I like the connection you made to a real life situation of wildlife rehabilitation, and the use of facts. Your text is well written. I am nominating you for the Special Showcase this week. 👍🙏😊

  2. Many thanks for sharing, so pleased to hear that Spruce will be doing well. I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed the task this week. We look forward to reading your next post next week.
