100 Word Challenge 1/29

I was riding down the street on my yellow bicycle when a car hit me. I don’t remember much after that. But now I’m blinking my eyes open to an empty gold room, with a man standing in the corner. “Oh, you’re up,” he says.

“Am I dead?”
The man ignores my questions, instead he greedily starts to examine the gold walls.

“Where am I? Who are you?” I start to feel desperate. “Please answer me!”
The man glances at me. “Be careful,” he warns. Then I wake up in a hospital bed.

I had to edit so much of this down, so it’s definitely not my best work- but here’s my post for the 100 Word Challenge. Enjoy. 🙂

    Grace –
An empty gold room with an unidentified man who tells you to “be careful.” Is this the after-life? Thankfully, your character awoke in a hospital bed instead of the alternative.

Unfortunately, there are too many cyclists injured or killed on roadways. Distracted drivers, fiddling with their phones, veer slightly off the road and clip a biker at 55mph. A cyclist doesn’t have much protection against a car or truck that weighs 1-2 tons. Here in Loudoun County, we need more bike lanes and bike pathways to keep cyclists safe. Your writing almost sounds like a radio ad warning drivers to be alert for cyclists! 🙂

    Thanks for posting your 100WC!
