Goodbye and Good Riddance (Juice WRLD)

Juice WRLD’s album Goodbye and Good Riddance released last year and was an automatic hit. The album even has a feature from lil uzi vert in the song “Wasted”. I love the vibe that I get from that album. It’s really that late night type album and I feel like Juice WRLD really specializes in that kind of music that really gets you in your feels. I honestly just started really loving the album recently.

Father of Asahd

DJ Khaled’s new album, Father of Asahd released just about two weeks ago. It has been roaming the big charts ever since. The top songs include, No Brainer, Celebrate, Jealous, Wish Wish, and Just Us.

Since DJ Khaled is one of the most renown producers in the game, he usually has features from the best rappers in the game. He has shaped this phase of his career all around his son, Asahd, which is actually a genius business strategy. Who knows? One day Asahd might grow up to be just like his dad.

Travis SoundCloud

So I went on song hunt the other day, and I came out with some pretty good results. I found the songs “Up Top”, “Highest in the Room”, “Zoom ft. Gunna”, “Houdini”, and “Part-time”. Most of those songs are yet to be released, incomplete, and just leaked on the internet. It’s honestly the best feeling to find new music that you just really like.

One podcast in particular, “.wav radio” is known for hosting Travis’ unreleased previews.

Huncho Jack

The legendary duo Travis Scott and Quavo dropped in album in the winter of 2017. I remember hearing the album for the first time in when I was in Florida. Right away, I knew it was gonna be a fire project. I never really appreciated the whole thing until just a couple months ago. I can’t even name my favorite songs, because I truly like the whole album.

There has been rumors about a Huncho Jack 2, and I really hope they are true.

FATHER OF 4

FATHER OF 4 by Offset is probably one of the most meaningful albums I have ever listened to. Most tracks nowadays are centered on materialistic things like watches, diamonds, jewelry, etc. However Offsets album focuses on all the wrong doings of his past and how he has become a changed man. For example, in the song “Father of 4”, he talks about all the children he has had and how he had to abandon some of them. At the time, Offset was living off the streets, barely having enough money to sustain himself.

“Then I got caught for the s***, in the pen when she pushed you out. He goes on to talk about how he was incarcerated     2-3 times in his daughter’s first years of life.

The vibe slowly changes throughout the album, with features from Gunna, Travis Scott, 21 savage, Gucci Mane, and even J. Cole.

BIRDS IN THE TRAP

“I GET THOSE GOOSEBUMPS EVERY TIME” from Travis Scott’s Goosebumps which has gone 4x Platinum in the US. The song is a part of the album Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight. The entire album has also gone platinum. This album is definitely one where I enjoy every song. It’s one of my favorite albums ever.

Travis Scott refers to the trap as, “social connection trap from what you want to do and how you want to express yourself. I feel like everyone just gets constricted by their parents or just life”

Recommended Songs on the album: way back, wonderful, through the late night, pick up the phone, and every other song on the album. Whole thing is fire.

ASTROWORLD

This summer Travis Scott released ASTROWORLD, one of the most anticipated albums of the entire year. Right away the album was breaking records left and right. Travis Scott’s album has since be classified double platinum by the Records Industry Association of America (RIAA). The album contained features from Drake, The Weekend, 21 Savage, Migos, Gunna, Nav. The list goes on. In other words, this album was set up for success. With the combination of this level of artists, we can only expect good music.

88GLAM

88glam dropped their first mixtape on November 17, 2017. The album contained 14 songs and even a feature from Nav.

I first heard 88glam 2 years ago when I was searching for new music to listen to. As I was looking at Nav’s features, I cam across and unknown artist. As soon as “Bali” started, I knew that 88glam was gonna have the most fire songs. I listened to the rest of the album and even showed him to some of my friends. 88glam just recently released their second project 88GLAM2, and its got some heat. I personally enjoyed the first album more, but I think the appreciation will come with time.

Favorite 88GLAM SONGS: Drop Top, Racks(ft. Gunna), GPS, Lil Boat, and basically the whole first album.

In may of 2018 Nav released that he was going on tour and 88glam was going to open for him in DC. Right away I asked my friends and convinced my parents to let me go. It was my first concert experience so I really didn’t know what to expect. Right as I stepped in after waiting in line for over an hour, the vibe just completely changed. It felt like I was about to enter the best party of my life.
