Reflection

I know that how I write is a cookie-cutter. I like to get my ideas down quickly covering the topics I want to talk about briefly. However, I believe everyone has their own unique way of writing. I go back and elaborate on my topics, adding structure to my writings, and adding elaborations. I know that I’m not going to get it right the first time so I focus on getting my ideas down quickly. I like to brainstorm my ideas, quickly constructing the format of my paper in my head. I decide where my paragraphs will go, and in what order. One of the most important things I do to begin writing is changing my surroundings. If I have lights on or if there’s music playing I will turn it off, and if there are distractions near me I will try to get rid of them. I would like to improve my writing process by allowing more of my personal feelings into my writing. I would like to stop just paraphrasing others and get my own ideas down instead. While writing I like to use complex words and subjects to engage my audience. I don’t want my audience to be bored while reading my writing. I like when my ideas are expressed in a way that’s concrete, where there aren’t holes in my logic that would make them become confused, or not understand what direction I try to go. All in all, I try to inform, as well as captivate my audience.
