100 Word Challenge #7

This is my 100 Word Challenge for March 3rd. The prompt was these words: Never, Kicked, Brown, Ballon, Frighting. Not it any order but here’s my result!

I was taking a stroll in the words, oblivious to the world around, focused only on the path the lie ahead. I had never tried this before, going out into the woods alone, for days on end,  just to experience nature. I kicked a stick out of my way and heard a frighting pop break the silence. I walked over to find a lifeless brown balloon, my stick through it. Then I saw another balloon, and a third one behind that. A trail, leading where, I didn’t know. I gazed up the line and froze. It looked back at me.

  1. Hey there, Patrick –

You traveled down the dark and spooky path again this week. HA HA. That’s your genre right now, and it looks good on you. It’s creepy to imagine an endless line of balloons staring at me. I wonder what their eyes look like. My one and only suggestion is to read my editing feedback before you finalize and publish your post. I’ll look forward to your next installment of dark and spooky!

  2. Hello Patrick,
I enjoyed your story, although I am slightly freaked out by the image evoked by your description. Yikes! It doesn’t sound like it will be a good outcome at the end of the trail.
I liked your use of the words, ‘oblivious’ and ‘focused’.
    Well done,
