Venice

Venice, Italy is built on about 100 small islands in the Adriatic Sea. There are no roads in venice, only canals. Venice has a lot to see and is a lot of fun!

Some places I recommend going to when you visit this city are the Piazza San Marco. It’s the biggest piazza there and is bustling with activity. It is at the mouth of the Grand Canal, the most famous canal in Italy. If you get the time, also go inside the Basilica San Marco. It is a beautiful example of Byzantine architecture. It features dazzling Byzantine mosaics and paintings by Venetian artists. The Doge’s Palace is also a really good place to go. Take a tour of the palace. It originally was the headquarters for the Republic of Venice, but now is turned into a museum. Another thing to do in Venice is cross the Rialto Bridge. It is very famous and it is located on the Grand Canal. As you walk, enjoy the little shops and markets there. Gondola rides are the must-do in Venice. It is an amazing way to explore the city and view things in a different perspective.
