Daddy’s Home 2

Over winter break, my family and I went on vacation to Crystal River, Florida. The car ride was very long, so I had to make sure I downloaded a lot of movies to pass the time. One of the movies was Daddy’s Home 2. Daddy’s Home 2 is the sequel film to the original Daddy’s Home, which both star Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg. Daddy’s Home 2 tells the story of Dusty (Wahlberg) and Brad (Ferrell), working as a team to raise their joint families happily and celebrate a merry Christmas together. This is when Dusty and Brad’s parents come to town for the holidays, and all plan how to spend their Christmas. This is when Dusty’s cool biker dad rents a huge mansion in the mountains for both families to enjoy Christmas at. The rest of the movie is filled with tons of comedic moments and fun adventures. This is a great movie to watch on a cold Sunday morning.

The Flash TV Show Review

Image result for the flash  The Flash is a TV show aired on The CW and is currently in it’s 5th season. The premise of the show is a regular man named Barry Allen was in his office one night working as a forensic scientist, when a nuclear particle accelerator on the other end of the city malfunctioned on it’s release and rearranged Allen’s molecular structure, giving him superhuman speed. In my personal opinion, The Flash’s best season was its first one. Every episode, Barry found himself facing off with new metahumans (other people who were affected by the particle accelerator but choose to use their powers for evil), and overcoming their abilities with his team of fellow scientists. The main goal for Team Flash is to capture the Reverse Flash, another speedster who killed his mom years ago and free his framed father from jail. Season 2 and season 3 were almost complete copies of eachother, where one extremely powerful speedster wreaks havoc on The Flash’s life, but it was still fun to watch because of the action and logical aspects of the show. Season 4 is definitely the worst season of the show in my opinion, and is also when I stopped watching the show alltogether. The villain for this season is actually really good and creative compared to the show’s first three seasons, but the show was honestly unbearable for me to watch at this point because almost all of the episodes were focused on drama and unimportant stuff without much action.

In conclusion, The Flash is still a good show for the first two-three seasons and is definetly an enjoyable watch if you’re looking for something to binge over winter break. If you’re into really poorly written romance and drama, then you should watch season 4 as well. 😂

Thanks for reading,

Daniel

Insatiable Netflix Show Review

If you are looking for a new show to watch over Thanksgiving break, you should definitely check out Netflix’s original series, Insatiable. This show currently has only 1 season, so the watch should be quick yet highly enjoyable. The show follows “Patty the Fatty”, played by Disney star Debby Ryan, and her transformation from an overweight bully victim with depression to a beautiful model with the perfect physique. The viewer gets to follow her journey to becoming a pageant star with the new experiences she receives through her new body. She is picked up by the infamous Robert Armstrong to coach her to the top of the pageant world. Because Robert Armstrong is the first man to ever respect Patty and treat her nicely (although it is only because she is now beautiful), Patty develops a crush for her married coach. This show is a great watch because it mixes drama and comedy very nicely. At parts when the show seems to get very dark and depressing, the humor brightens the shows atmosphere.

In conclusion, of you are in need of an enjoyable show to binge watch over Thanksgiving break, then you should definitely check out Insatiable.

All American Review

The CW’s brand new television hit following the domination from The Flash and Arrow, is All American. Taking a step back from the superhero scene, All American follows the journey of high school student and football prodigy, Spencer James. The show starts off with a loveable cast and interesting plot, where the viewer suspects that the show is merely a dramedy with a shallow story. This is a bad approach to this incredible show, because as soon as the end of the first episode, you realize that this series will be filled with plot twists that will keep you hungry for new episodes every Wednesday. Spencer James is a fantastic football player with great academics, but he attends a very rough and poor school where the future for his athletic career is not looking very bright. After an outstanding performance by Spencer at a football game, he is greeted by the coach of a much wealthier and stable high school who need help on their football team’s performance or the coach will get fired. At first, Spencer is hesitant and does not want to betray his school. After talking with his mom, he comes to the conclusion that if he wants to make it big, he is going to have to make sacrifices and change schools. I look forward to new episodes every single week because the story always keeps me interested.

BoJack Horseman Season 1

At the beginning of this week, I started to watch the Netflix original series, Bojack Horseman. Bojack Horseman is a part satire part dramedy series which follows the current life of washed up 90’s television star, Bojack Horseman. He has no need to worry about money, although his main troubles include his depression and loneliness. For the first few episodes, the show is very lighthearted and enthralling with relatable and charismatic characters. At this point, their isn’t very much of a plot, and is more focused on the comedic aspects of Bojack’s life. Episode 3 brings a new character into the show who will definitely impact the future episodes because of how Bojack begins. Episode 4 is mainly a filler episode for the series, and lets the watcher get to know the characters and their pasts better. Episodes 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 are much more serious and dramatic, and is really a turning point in the series because it implements an actually story and conflict. Episode 11 is really unnecessary and is literally BoJack’s experience after taking 20 different drugs. Finally, in the last episode, BoJack’s life is settling down and just enjoying the new fame and fortune of his recent best-selling book. He is offered his dream role for a movie, Secretariat. This is where the season ends, and it is a great cliffhanger which leads into a great 2nd season.
