The Cleveland Show Review

Image result for the cleveland showCleveland Brown is a single father working a dead end job and only enjoys going to the local Quahog bar to get drunk with his friends. One day, Cleveland decides to return to his home town of Stoolbend, Virginia and reunite with his highschool sweetheart, Donna Tubman. Cleveland is introduced to his two new trouble maker step-children and his crazy new neighbors. I would give this show an 8/10 rating and would also say it is a better show than it’s mother series, Family Guy.

Liv and Maddie Review

Image result for liv and maddieLiv and Maddie was a Disney Channel comedy series which aired it’s 80 episodes from 2013-2017.  Liv and Maddie Rooney are two identical twins who have recently been reunited for the first time in four years. Maddie is the star basketball player for her school’s team, and Liv is a beauty queen who has just come home from Hollywood after starring in a hit TV series. The twins must adapt to the changes they’re undergoing and face challenges between themselves and others, like relationships and school related things. I honestly really like the idea of this show, but it was quite boring when it was airing. If it was a more mature show with the same plot, I think it could have been an amazing series. Besides that, I will give this a 7/10 rating.

Jessie Review

Image result for jessieJessie was a classic Disney Channel  comedy series which aired for 98 episodes from 2011-2015. Jessie is a small-town teen from Texas who ventures to New York in hopes of pursuing an acting career. Instead, she is quite literally immediately hired as the new nanny of 4 children who are very rich. As a show based around 5 teenagers with access to a lot of money, the possibilities for the writers are nearly endless. Along with the great plot, the show also possesses the iconic theme song, “Hey Jessie”. I rate this show 9/10, and I am happy I grew up with that era of tennager channels rather than the newer series.

Fresh Off the Boat Review

Image result for fresh off the boatFresh Off the Boat is an ABC comedy sitcom which aired it’s first episode in February of 2015. In this show, 11 year-old Eddie moves from Chinatown (D.C.) to downtown Orlando with his parents and two brothers. While Eddie’s dad, Louis, tries to follow the American dream and open a Western-themed restaurant, the rest of his family is left to adapt to their new surroundings. ABC is currently airing it’s fifth season, with new episodes every Friday. Personally, I believe the show started to venture downhill after the second season concluded. With such a basic premise for a show, it was destined to be doomed since the story was written. The actors/actresses would eventually be too old for their parts, the family would eventually become comfortable with their living situation and town, and the dad’s restaurant dream would eventually take off. Procrastinating these events just to make the show run longer would quickly get repetitive and drive viewers away.

The Punisher Review

Image result for The PunisherThe Punisher was a Netflix original series with it’s first episode airing back in November of 2017, and it’s final episode being released this past January. The series begins with Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) claiming revenge on the people responsible for the deaths of his wife and children. While doing so, Castle discovers a conspiracy that runs much deeper than the surface of New York’s crime scene. Taking on the alias “The Punisher”, he must dig deep into the conspiracy to discover the truth about injustices that affect more than just him and his family. This is one of my personal favorite series to rewatch, so I definetly recommend that you check it out as well.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Review

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is a CW crossover series which features many heroes from other CW shows. The first episode aired on January 21st, 2016, and is still currently airing, with the upcoming 60th episode of it’s 4 total seasons. The first season starts with Rip Hunter, a member of the time council who has come back in time from the future with his timeship to collect a team of heroes who can save the future of impending doom. On their journey, they are tasked with defeating many various time calamities while minimizing the amount of damage and change to the timeline. Although it sounds quite simple for a group of superheroes, they must come up with near flawless strategies in order to prevent changes to the course of time.

The Thundermans

Image result for the thundermansThe Thundermans primarily aired on October 13, 2014 on Nickelodeon. The series revolves around Max and Phoebe Thunderman, a pair of twins who, along with their younger brother and sister and parents, must live a double life while hiding their identities as superheroes and live as normal citizens. With all of the family members possessing such unnatural powers, wanting to live a normal life may sound simple on paper, but with all of the villain ordeals and opportunities to use their powers for personal benefits, it may be harder than it seems. The show has a total of 98 episodes, and concluded on May 25, 2018. I give this show a 4/10.

Guy’s Grocery Games Review

Image result for guys grocery gamesIn today’s edition of TV Shows Reviewed by a Child Prodigy, we will be discussing the series “Guy’s Grocery Games”. In this enthralling series, the popular Food Network star known as Guy Fieri, allows 4 chefs to have the opportunity to win $20,000. In order to win, the chefs must follow the theme set by the judges and Guy and make culinary dishes using resources found throughout the aisles in the grocery store. The winning chef then has 2 minutes to rush around the whole store with a grocery list of 10 items. Each item is worth $2000, so if the victor is able to successfully find every ingredient on the list, they are awarded with the grand prize of $20,000. This show is very entertaining and is a nice watch for people interested in cooking or even for someone looking for something different than traditional comedy and drama series that are all over television lately.

Daddy’s Home 2

Over winter break, my family and I went on vacation to Crystal River, Florida. The car ride was very long, so I had to make sure I downloaded a lot of movies to pass the time. One of the movies was Daddy’s Home 2. Daddy’s Home 2 is the sequel film to the original Daddy’s Home, which both star Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg. Daddy’s Home 2 tells the story of Dusty (Wahlberg) and Brad (Ferrell), working as a team to raise their joint families happily and celebrate a merry Christmas together. This is when Dusty and Brad’s parents come to town for the holidays, and all plan how to spend their Christmas. This is when Dusty’s cool biker dad rents a huge mansion in the mountains for both families to enjoy Christmas at. The rest of the movie is filled with tons of comedic moments and fun adventures. This is a great movie to watch on a cold Sunday morning.

The Flash TV Show Review

Image result for the flash  The Flash is a TV show aired on The CW and is currently in it’s 5th season. The premise of the show is a regular man named Barry Allen was in his office one night working as a forensic scientist, when a nuclear particle accelerator on the other end of the city malfunctioned on it’s release and rearranged Allen’s molecular structure, giving him superhuman speed. In my personal opinion, The Flash’s best season was its first one. Every episode, Barry found himself facing off with new metahumans (other people who were affected by the particle accelerator but choose to use their powers for evil), and overcoming their abilities with his team of fellow scientists. The main goal for Team Flash is to capture the Reverse Flash, another speedster who killed his mom years ago and free his framed father from jail. Season 2 and season 3 were almost complete copies of eachother, where one extremely powerful speedster wreaks havoc on The Flash’s life, but it was still fun to watch because of the action and logical aspects of the show. Season 4 is definitely the worst season of the show in my opinion, and is also when I stopped watching the show alltogether. The villain for this season is actually really good and creative compared to the show’s first three seasons, but the show was honestly unbearable for me to watch at this point because almost all of the episodes were focused on drama and unimportant stuff without much action.

In conclusion, The Flash is still a good show for the first two-three seasons and is definetly an enjoyable watch if you’re looking for something to binge over winter break. If you’re into really poorly written romance and drama, then you should watch season 4 as well. 😂

Thanks for reading,

Daniel
