Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness

Recently I’ve been debating about getting cable. Cable feels so old fashion though, and it’s more of a luxury now a days. Like honestly you’ll go bankrupt if you don’t pay attention to them bills. I got Netflix which is honestly really cheap it only costs about 120 pesos a month. Also yes that how I roll I like to invest in different countries for the long run. What makes me mad though is Netflix is adding a whole dollar to the subscription starting in June. That may not sound like much at first but do the quick maths. Your paying a whole subscription and a half more a year, imagine how many millions they’re racking in over just a dollar. I’m outraged I want justice. I don’t even watch tv, i’m too busy nowadays.

la llorona

This movie was simply amazing. La llorona a classic Mexican legend meaning nothing more in English but than the weeping lady. I remember my grandmother scaring me to the bathroom when I was a little kid.  The story I was taught is that she’s a life like ghost almost like a curse, accept she is a curse. She fell in love at a young age in a small Mexican village. She had two little boys, ages 2 and 5 but her love didn’t approve of them. She did what any normal mother would do and drowned them in a river to try to win back her mans love. The guy thought she was insane and abandoned her, she regretted it so bad it later led to her death. Kids are taught that if you don’t behave with your elders la llorona will appear and take you as her own to compensate for her missing kids. She shows up crying in a bloody wedding dress wearing white makeup to cover up her bruises. For me this movie was 10x scarier because I could relate to it at a far more personal level. The only thing I don’t like is it took place in LA not in a small village like the true legend. This is one of the few movies I suggest anyone to watch, it has the perfect mix of horror and culture. I give it a 1/10.

Endgame

This movie had way too much hype. Everyone was talking about it months before it even came out, and honestly there was no point. It was decent and by decent I mean pretty bad compared to other marvel films. I’m not too much of a superhero fan, and going into endgame the only superheros I knew were Thor and captain america. Apparently it’s about to make top 10 movies in history, I don’t care for that I’m just stating the facts. It made a ton of money I remember reading an article the day it came out in China, just the first 10 hours it made over 100 million. 100 million just let that sink in. I’d drop out of high school with that type of cash. I’d live in a barbie mansion living the dream life. No but in all seriousness that’s a ton of money even for a movie. Me personally the movie was alright, maybe you’ll like it more. The three extra long hours it took made it no justice. I went to the bathroom way too many times to count. I’m still recovering from that exploded bladder.

5 Feet Apart

The only thing that makes me mad about this movie is that there’s no real way of describing it. Everyone I was with was crying legitimate tears, none of that drama club type of stuff. I could feel my heart pounding out of my chest during the whole movie. It’s really sad yet cute at the same time. The idea that Stella the main character has an lung illness and can’t touch other people cause she might die is simply insane. She falls in love with this one guy named Will which is her roommate in the hospital she’s living at. It was love at first sight and it was really awkward because none of them would make a move. The only move that was made was that Stella would put herself in a whole anti-germ suit to clean his room. Not exactly what I picture a perfect introduction to a love story but who knows maybe that’s what people do in a hospital. They have to keep themselves 5 feet apart at all times or else their germs might spread to one another.  Many deaths happen with in this movie which just adds on to the sadness factor. Not gonna spoil much more but yeah the movie is definitely worth watching. Rotten tomatoes gave it a bad score but at this point I don’t even trust them. They gave Black Panther a low score and that movie was straight out of Wakanda. Just go out and watch 5 Feet Apart, if you like drama and/or puppies this is the movie for you.

Peer Pressure Kills

Today, ahhh today Friday 22 of march 2019 I’m going to watch a movie. I was telling my people to watch the Lego Movie but sadly it’s out of theaters, I’m really mad about that. Our only other option was 5 feet apart starting at ten, I don’t think my parents are going to be to excited I arrive home at one but it’s fine. If you see an amber alert out for me just ignore it. I gave into peer pressure and now I must pay by watching 5 feet apart. Not the worst consequence but not the best, they should at least pay my ticket. I could just not go but I risk being exposed, and trust me I’m good. What’s one movie anyways am I right? Like how bad can it be? I might just invite everyone to my place and rent a movie. It will honestly be better and cheaper. Instead of all of us paying over one hundred dollars combined we can rent a movie for like ten. The best part is free drinks and food, stuff at the movies is so overpriced. I hate it, one bottle of water is six dollars with that amount of money I’m six dollars closer to moving out!

Just Another Blog

Recently I’ve really been digging the new Lego movie that came out like a year ago. I’m only joking, it’s  disgusting and if you like it well RIP, and even if I did i’m too busy for it. I have like a whole month planned already and none of that includes a movie. Honestly I have no clue what I was thinking or what i’m going to do. I’ll probably just stay up till four in the morning watching a weird movie from the 1900’s. Stay tuned because that’s gonna be an adventure! Anyways nothing really interesting has been happening. School has got me more jumbled up than jambalaya, like fo reals I’ve missed five days this month and my grade has fallen faster than an egg from a chicken. Pretty sure that’s gonna impact me in the future but, oh well It was important what I had to do. It wasn’t really but still. The school system just annoys me, why if your absent for a valid reason don’t they give you more days to turn in work? I get due dates are due dates but come on. Someone can literally be paralyzed in the hospital and some teacher would remind them, “Don’t forget that your thousand word essay that’s due tomorrow!”, it just shocks me. If I was that kid paralyzed and stuff and a teacher told me that I would honestly just tell the hospital staff to kill me now. Stuff like that makes me think that some teachers don’t care at all about what happens to you after your out of their class.

The Oscars

The Oscars, a classic event bringing together man and animal alike. I didn’t watch it, but some people on google did! Apparently it was complete and utter garbage. Best picture went to Green Book which I heard was good, I have yet to watch it. Bohemian Rhapsody’s Rami Malek got the award for leading actor and in my opinion he deserves it by a long shot. Everyone else that got nominated was bad. Rami in the movie was pretty good it really felt like you were watching a queen concert, not that I would know what that feels like but yeah! He played his role exceptionally well, specially when his sexuality changed he took it smoothly like a smoothie. The speech he gave out when he received the Oscar showed me a side of him i’ve never seen before. The man was funny and humble. He talked about his dad and how he never got the chance of seeing his acting career take off. He said and I quote, “I’m sure he’s looking down on me” that part alone left me thinking so much. How was Rami able to surpass such an obstacle, and lose that part of emotional support and somehow still go on to by himself win an Oscar. Truly amazing work by Mr. Malek. All I can say is he done deserve’s that Oscar.

Motivation at its finest

Movies a good way to kick back and relax. Recently no good movies have been coming out. Happy Death Day 2U was released yesterday but honestly it doesn’t catch my eye too much. If it’s anything like the 1st one its gonna be very repetitive and not scary. On the other hand Green Book might be good. It’s about a man and another man. Basically what makes it interesting is the movie takes place in the old days when African Americans were very discriminated. This one African american musician is so good people don’t care about his race or where he came from, he’s able to united people with his music. It seems like a funny movie that will include some beautiful moments in it. With all that being said, any recommendations?

Glass

Yet another movie I have no clue why I spent my money on. I’m not a fan of comics nor superheroes in my opinion they’re silly and non necessary, but yet I thought it was a good idea to go out and watch Glass. I have no words to describe how bad it was, the ambiance of the movie with the setting being in the mental hospital made it seem very boring. I don’t know about you but me personally I don’t like when the main setting of a movie is a room full of white, doesn’t sound very fun. That’s not the only thing bad with it, I didn’t understand any of the plot and it seemed the movie had no moral or lesson. Just to give you an idea of how bad it was, Mr. Glass the main character of the movie didn’t talk till the last ten minutes of the movie, yeah it was really bad. The only interesting part was the fight which was a total of two minutes out of the extraordinarily long two hours the movie took. Would I recommend this, no unless you like feeling like you’re in a mental asylum. I rate this movie 2/10 simple.

The Mule (2018)

I watched The Mule and straight off the bat let me tell you it was great! If you like comedy and/or action I would 10/10 recommend! The Mule starts off with Earl Stone the main character rebuilding his life after hitting rock bottom and his family completely hating him. In order to do so, he transports cartel’s drugs across the US without him even knowing. He does this all while a DEA agent hunts for him, the one thing neither know is they’ve had multiple interactions for each other. My favorite part of the movie is when Earl gets a call from his daughter telling him his wife is about to die, this man does what any normal person would do and pulls up to his daughter’s house with a truck stacked to the brim with cocaine to say his goodbye’s. The cartel was so mad that he was late to the drop off they sent hitmen after him. What I love though is when the hitmen found out he was late because his wife died they had sympathy and didn’t kill him. This scene showed me that even the worst of the worst have a heart. This movie also made me realize how important dignity is, being true for who you are and showing responsibility for your actions.  During his sentencing, while his lawyer was trying to liberate some charges Earl stands up and pleads guilty to all of them, what a man! Well to sum it up The Mule was amazing!
