Since the March slice of life challenge is coming up really soon, I decided to write one of my last posts before posting my slice of life challenge. This post is about one of our classroom’s most controversial issues, is water wet? I believe water is not wet and I have reached this conclusion using the power of……. Science! No No No, don’t leave yet, I promise this will be interesting… OK maybe not interesting, but it’ll be short! OK, now on to the facts. I think, no I KNOW that water is not wet because being wet is the act of adhesion. (Google definition of adhesion:The tendency of dissimilar particles to stick to each other) That means that everything except water can be wet. Now you might be saying, water can stick to itself. Water sticking to itself is the act of cohesion which is similar to adhesion but is a different process. If being wet is the act of adhesion, and water sticking to itself is the act of cohesion, water can never be wet.
