All Star Weekend!

This weekend was All-Star Weekend in the NBA. It is always an exciting thing to watch. In the Team WORLD vs Team USA game Team WORLD won the game 142-124. In the skills challenge the finals match up was Spencer Dinwiddie vs Lauri Markkanen. My pick that I wanted to win was Markkanen because he was a rookie and a great 3 point shooting big man. Spencer Dinwiddie won it though. In the 3 point contest I just wanted someone to be on fire and make so many. In the finals it was Tobias Harris, Klay Thompson, and Devin Booker. Tobias Harris put up 17 in the final round which was one less than his first round score of 18. Klay Thompson and Devin Booker tied each other in the first round with a score of 19 and in the final round when Booker went first he got the 3 point contest record with a score of 28/34. Klay Thompson came close but he missed his last few baskets and he couldn’t make it but he got a score of 25 and fell short. The dunk contest was probably the most exciting competitions of them all. In one of his dunks Victor Oladipo took a Black Panther mask from Chadwick Boseman ( the guy that plays Black Panther in the movie) and he did a no-look dunk because he couldn’t see through the mask but he didn’t do too well on his first dunk so he couldn’t move on the the finals. In the finals it was between Donovan Mitchell and Larry Nance Jr. Larry’s dad was there too. His dad won the first dunk contest in NBA history and he got his genes. His first dunk was a replica of his dad’s first dunk as he was paying tribute to him. A lot of people say that he had the most impressive dunk of the night as in the finale he threw it off the backboard got the ball back and threw it off again and dunked it which is really hard to do and especially for a big man like him. Donovan Mitchell won it though as his first dunk was over Kevin Hart and his son and his 2nd dunk payed tribute to Vince Carter who is arguably the best dunker in NBA history.
