I have chains

And every day

A new link is added

They are so heavy

And no one else can carry them

But

I’m over them

I didn’t destroy them

I can’t ignore them

But now

I’m stronger

And I fight a new battle every day

I smile and laugh

And try to be happy

But

The chains are still there

They weigh me down

They are called

Depression.
