To honor the 17 people who died in the shooting in Florida our school had a walk out thing. A month ago 17 people died in a school shooting in Florida, many kids were protesting in school. At 10 o’clock in the morning you can walk out of the building and walk around the track for 17 minutes. A minute to honor them and their family. Many kids in our school walked out of the building, but since it was still a protest there was a consequence. It was a peaceful protest though. I did not walk out because I did not want to face the consequence. Which was lunch detention, even though the punishment was small I still didn’t want to do it. I thought that my parents are going to get mad at me. When you walk out you are also missing out on school for 17 minutes. I had a test in the block that you are suppose to walk out and I didn’t want to miss out on the review. I think I would have done the walk out if there wasn’t a consequence because it is important to remember the people who lost their lives.
