Today I went on a virtual field trip to The National Museum Of Natural History it was actually almost as good as the real thing. When I was doing the virtual tour it was nice because since I live in the D.C. area I went there a lot when I was younger and it was cool to see it again and remember what it was like. The Tour was really cool because you could look around and see each exhibit and even read the signs. Here are some things I learned on my field trip:
- I learned about the global heat wave 56 million years ago when the atmospheric carbon doubled in only a few thousand years.
- I learned about was the mass extinctions of animals after humans were on earth.
- I learned about what part of the human body out primate ancestors used
- I learned about the music people made in ancient africa
- I learned about the bowls and pots they made in ancient africa
- I learned about traditional african clothing
- I learned about gems and minerals
I really recommend that you virtually visit the museum too! It’s really fun especially if your field trip got canceled because of corona. visit this link to virtually tour the museum. Hello its Abby I’m sorry I haven’t posted in a while since the fall blogging challenge but I’m back and the spring student blogging challenge 2020 is coming up so I decided to make a listice before the challenge starts.
- I learned how to blog, I participated in the 2019 fall student blogging challenge and I learned so much about blogging. For example now I can write a full blog post and leave detailed comments on others posts.
- In english class we learned how to write a short story that is at least 1000 words. I wrote a story about a girl who gets kidnapped. I think 1000 words is the most writing I’ve ever done in my life.
- I learned it doesn’t matter as much as it seems when certain kids spread rumors about you just because they assumed stuff about your personality or looks.
- I learned that dress Codes are an unfair rule, there shouldn’t be rules that tell you what to wear. Clothing is how most people express themselves. There shouldn’t be a limitation to peoples way of expressing themselves.
- In math I learned about slope which is how to describe the direction and steepness of a line on a coordinate plane. I also learned how to find the volume and surface area of clt fers and rectangular prisms.
- In science I learned about how different organisms are classified all organisms have at least eight levels of classification which are: Domain, Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, Species
- In history I learned about world war 1 where there were two main sides: the central powers and the allied powers The allied powers won the war after four years.

- I live in the DMV with my mom, dad, sister and dog. I love my family and I am grateful to grow up in such a nice area
- I love dogs, dogs are my favorite animal because they are loyal, friendly, and they are so fluffy and cute!
- I’m a seventh grader, so far seventh grade has been really fun. I have a lot of friends in my classes, and I have been getting decent grades, seventh grade is a lot easier than sixth grade
- I love to try new foods, when I was younger I was always a really picky eater and I would only like little kid food like peanut butter and jelly, or mac and cheese, but now whenever I try a new food I usually like it.
- I love shopping and clothes, my favorite place to buy clothes is brandy melville. I also love pacsun because they have really cute clothes and they sell brandy melville.
- I love cheerleading, because it is really fun but is also an exercise. I am a flyer because I am 4’11 and nobody else is short enough to base with me, also I am just too short to be a back spot with girls my age.
- My favorite color is pink, specifically light pink I love the color pink just because it’s so girly without being too neon or childish.
- My favorite food is poke. That’s a kind of sushi bowl, there is a really good poke place near me and it is definitely the best meal ever because its fast and it fills you up without being greasy or fried
- I have a dog named Ze, he is a portuguese water dog and he is super adorable.
